"The Voice" have to search for an new judge to fill another coaches chair.
After CeeLo Green announced his departure from the show and Christina Aguilera dubbed Gwen Stefani her replacement for next season, another coach is stepping away from the televised singing competition. Shakira, who had previously alternated seasons with Aguilera, said she won't be returning to the show anytime soon.
"This was always a temporary thing for me to do," the singer told reporters this week. "For now, no, I don't have any plans of coming back."
The pop singer busy schedule is to blame for her early exit. After recently having a bay and dropping her 10th studio album in March, the artist admitted she just don't have time to continue her role in the competition as an coach.
"Honestly, I've had a blast," Shakira said. "But right now, I have to go on with my life as an artist. I'm not really a TV celebrity and I have to prep a tour and also do other stuff, like being a mother."
We'll all miss her fiery personality and hilarious back-and-forths with the other coaches Usher, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Shakira was asked if she'd ever **** in the big red chair again, Shakira said, "You never know."
"The Voice" airs Mondays and Tuesday at 8 p.m EDT on NBC.
