This week in the HBCU Campaign's HBCU Notable Spotlight:

Ms. Daryl Joy Walters, a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, HBCU Alumnus, who i the former Chief of Staff of the Student Government Association of Wiley College and delegate to the 2012 Democratic National Convention representing the 4th Congressional District of Louisiana.

As a student, Wiley College highlighted her as the "Community Servant of the Year" in 2012. The Theta Chapters of Zeta Phi Beta and Omega Psi Phi credited Walters for being selected a their "Female of the Year". In the November 2012 edition of ESSENCE Magazine Walters was proudly recognized as possibly "America's 1st Black Female President." Walters also interned for U.S. Senator Marj Landreiu Battle Ground Texas, Obama for America. Walters is also a graduate of the Women's Campaign School at Yale University.

Walters is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Incorporated, initiated in the Alpha Iota Chapter.

The HBCU Campaign's commends Walters in all of the excellence work she has since during her college days at Wiley and her days after Wiley. Keep up the great work! HBCU Excellence is a plus to showing what Historically Black Colleges and Universities can produce within' their students.
