I Am... Isaac Fisher, who was an African-American educator. Born on November 2, 1877, in East Carroll Parish, LA, I graduated from Tuskegee Institute. I succeeded Joseph Carter Corbin as principal of Branch Normal College (now University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff), from 1902 to 1911 at the age of 25. I was selected by the schools trustees on the recommendation of my friend and mentor Booker T. Washington of Tuskegee Institute. During my tenure, the school concentrated on elementary and secondary education of students. I also taught at Fisk University and Hampton Institute.

I believed, as my mentor Booker T. Washington, in industrial education for African Americans. I am honored by the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, with an hall at the Harrold Complex Dormitory named after me name Fisher Hall, whose currently house female students.
