The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Office of Career Services sponsors YMTF (Youth Motivational Task Force) February 22-24. YMTF has become one of the most significant and exhilarating programs provided for UAPB students with the goal of encouraging them to take full advantage of the benefits available, give guidance on how to succeed in their careers, and look at life in the real world of work through the experiences of seasoned professionals. Several consultants representing the private sector, government agencies, and educational institutions will spend two and a half days on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The consultants will speak to students in classrooms, present panel discussions, conduct a "rap" and one-on-one sessions to help prepare students for success in the classrooms as well as in the workplace. More than sixty students were selected to serve as student liaisons, program participants and ushers.
YMTF also holds an motivational assembly that includes an speaker that will speak to the students about being motivated and how to prepare to succeed in the workforce of their careers. At the assembly in 2014, award-winning gospel artist Kirk Franklin spoked as keynote speaker. This year's assembly will feature lyricist, inspirational speaker and DJ MC Lyte. This FREE and open to the public event will take place on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 7PM in the H.O. Clemmons Arena in the Kenneth L. Johnson HPER Complex.
