This is in promotion of our social media campaign to bring awareness and support the excellence of historically black colleges and universities.

This Tuesday (3/24/15), we highlighted Dr. Laurence B. Alexander,  (pictured on the right with UAPB/AM&N National Alumni Association President, Tammie Hall), Chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He is a native of New Orleans. He is the 19th administrative head of the institution since its founding in 1873 And the ninth Chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB). Prior to coming to UAPB in 2013, Alexander served as the Associate Dean of the University of Florida (UF) Graduate School, Director of Office of Graduate Minority Programs, a Dintinguished Teaching Scholar, and a Professor in the Department of Journalism. He received a bachelor's degree in Drama and Communications from the University of New Orleans, Master's Degree in Journalism and Communications from UF, Juris Doctor from Tulane University, and Ph.D in Higher Educatiom from Florida State University.

in April of 2014, Dr. Alexander was inaugurated as Chancellor. During his inauguration he presented the University with a new logo and era for the institution's future. He states; "It's a beginning  of a new era for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, and we believe it will be a Era of Excellenice for UAPB/AM&N National Alumni Association, the community and the state of Arkansas."

Chancellor Alexander is featured in the 2015 HBCU Campaign HBCU Featured Desk Calendar. You can purchase a copy by going to our store.
