UAPB Golden Lions roar to double victory this past weekend
This past weekend, D.J's Music Site went to see the Golden Lions in action as they faced Alabama A&M Bulldogs (Sat., Feb. 4th) and Alabama State Hornets on (Mon, Feb 6th) both was at home at the H.O. Clemmons Arena. Saturday's game against Alabama A&M Bulldogs winning 81-75. UAPB's Mitchell Anderson had 17 points and 10 rebounds, Guard Lazabian Jackson had 11 points and seven rebounds with seven assists, PG Savalace Townsend had 16 points and Rontrell Bailey had 10 points the Golden Lions took the win by 6 points ending it with a 2 game winning streak . Monday's game against the Alabama State Hornets was kinda nervous recking as the Golden Lions took the won by 1 points. The Lions started off with a good lead of 13-3 but when it got the the second half, fouls after bad calls after fouls were call against Arkansas Pine-Bluff to give the Hornets a chance to catch up which they end up losing by 1 point wining 61-62. Daniel Broughton with the block at the end of the game causing the clock to time out for the win. Savalace Townsend scored up 18 points in that game. The Golden Lions will pack up and travel to face the Southern Jaguars this weekend on Sat, Feb. 11th in Baton Rouge then travel to Alcorn to face the Braves before returning back home next weekend for last weekend at home before the season home closer on March 1st against Mississippi Valley State. On the other hand, the Lady Lions weren't looking too good this weekend as they lost 61-55 on Saturday against the Lady Bulldogs and 68-57 on Monday against the Lady Hornets.
