John Legend visited his alma mater as John Stevens in 1995, which was 19 years ago, but didn't think would return yesterday giving the commencement address.
The singer gave the commencement address at the University of Pennsylvania on Monday (May 19), returning to the university he attended before he became an world-known musician.
Legend was in a self-deprecating mood to start the ceremony by singing a few bars of his No. 1 hit in the U.S., "All of Me."
And he sang it like this; "All of you / Are so over me / You're tired of hearing that I went to Penn / Why'd they bring him back again?," he got the crowed started.
He also included another one of his his "Made To Love" in his speech also.
"The reason I'm here, the reason I had such a wonderful journey so far because I find love. Yes, love. We were all made to love and I find we live our best lifes and we are at our most successful. Not simply because we're smarter. Because we hustle harder. Not because we become millionaires more quickly. The key to success, the key too happiness is opening your mind and your heart to love. Spending time doing things you love and with people you love."
