Mary J. Blige has teamed up with Sam Smith for a new duet version of Smith's single "Stay with Me," a snippet of which premiered on Good Morning America yesterday (June 2).
"I'm so honored to have had the chance to work with Sam Smith," say Mary J. Blige in a statement release by Capitol Music Group. "Sam's true soulful voice... is the first of this kind I heard since Luther Vandross, Freddie Jackson and all of the great soulful male voices from the '80s. I'm completely blown away by his talent, soul and the sincerity."
The track was introduced to Americans when Smith performed it on Saturday Night Live with a full backing gospel choir back in March and is on his debut album, In the Lonely Hour, due in stores on June 17 in the U.S.
The new duet version is available to purchase on Itunes or you can watch the video with Blige below.
