HOUSTON, TX -  Save the date because the D.J's Music Site HBCU Campaign's 'HBCU of the Month' of June, Texas Southern University alumnus and co-host of ABC's Live! with Kelly & Michael, Michael Strahan will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Canton, Ohio.

Join Texas Southern University's band Ocean of Soul as they travel to Canton, Ohio to help Strahan celebration his outstanding accomplishment.

HISTORY OF MICHAEL STRAHAN

After starring at Westbury High School, Texas Southern University was the only school to offered Strahan a scholarship to play football. His focus on determination and hard work propelled him to be drafted in 1993 by the New York Giants.

"We are extremely proud of Strahan's induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame," said Dr. John Rudley, Texas Southern University president. "This honor is just further proof that 'Excellence in Achievement' is more than a mantra at Texas Southern, it is a way of life."

Strahan remains intimately connected to his alma mater. He was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters degree during the University's spring 2013 commencement. He urged students to push themselves, believe in themselves, make the right decisions and to expect to be successful.

Strahan just donated 100k to his alma mater, so that the Ocean of Soul band can travel to Canton, Ohio to support him.
