SAVE THE DATE! The B96 Pepsi Summerbash is coming a little bit later this year, Saturday, June 20, 2015 back at Toyota Park!

For many years the B96 Pepsi Summerbash was held on June 14th, this will be the first year that the music festival is held on June 20th. The official artist reveal will happen on Friday, March 27th.

Who do you think B96 will be bringing to the bash this year? This will be D.J's Music Site's staff tenth year at the bash in Chicago!

As we go deeper into the month of August, the 2014 MTV VMAs is quickly approahing... like TWO weeks away. That night is planning to be Queen B's night as she is set to perform and also receive the MTV's Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, which honors an artists body of work. Bey, will join past winners Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Beastie Boys, Madonna and, Michael Jackson, for whom the award was renamed in 1991.

The Queen is the most nominated artist this year, with eight nominations. Bey's nominations includes Video of the Year for "Drunk In Love,"  Best Female, Best Collaboration, Best Video With a Social Message, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Choreography and Best Direction.

Since Destiny's Child days, the Queen has took home 11 VMA trophies, including Video of the Year for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it)" in 2009 and Best Female for "Crazy in Love," an duet with her husband, Jay Z, in 2007.

The MTV Awards is expected to be broadcast live from the Forum in Inglewood, California at 9pm EST on August 24th.

Other artists with multiple VMA nominations this year include Eminem and Iggy Azalea, who are both up for seven "Moonman" awards. Jay Z, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande, Lorde, Sam Smith, Sia and Avicii are all also nominated in multiple categories.

And the confirm list of other performers includes Maroon 5, Usher, 5 Seconds of Summer, Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora.

Kirko Bangz step onto the set of BET's 106 & Park today to premiere the video for his last single "Rich" which features the latest rising new artist August Alsina.

Michelle Williams is back in the worship with her latest single 'Say Yes' which features her former band mates Beyonce Knowles and Kelly Rowland and preparing to release her fourth studio album soon entitled, "Journey to Freedom".

Williams perform at this year Essence Fest earlier this month performing a snippet of her 'Say Yes' song and performing a full set of her leading single 'If We Had Your Eyes' and also doing some of her past Destiny's Child hits such as 'Girl' and 'Free'.

Just this month, R&B singer Trey Songz released his sixth studio album entitled, 'Trigga'  on July 1st.The day after the release Trey appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! concert series to his promote the new album, performing the album lead single "Na Na" and new single, "Foreign".

Also catch Trey Songz and Jimmy Kimmel transalate the lyrics "Na Na" for old people.

Yesterday, kicked off the one of the biggest food festivals in the United States, the Taste Of Chicago.

Today the Taste of Chicago will welcome the remarkable R&B Janelle Monae to the Petrillo Music Shell in Grant Park presented by the Illinois Lottery. Monae will be joined by Gary Clark Jr. as her opening act. The concert begins at 5:30pm, and tickets are $25. There are lawn sitting in Butler Field for free. The highly influential  Soul Legend and R&B singer-songwriter who influenced artists from Rolling Stones to Damon Albarn, Bobby Womack died. He was 70.

Womack died this past Friday. According to source, there could not be no other details provided at the moment.

"He had a style that nobody could ever capture," longtime friend, gospel singer Candi Staton, said in a statement. "I loved him and I will miss him so, so very much."

Even though Womack's death comes suddenly surprising. Womack has been sick with a bunch of different health issues. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's diease two year ago and overcame prostate and colon cancer. But Womack also was in good spirits when he performed earlier this month at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. 

Womack told the BBC in 2013 the Alzheimer's diagnosis came after he began having difficulty remembering his songs and the names of people he had worked with.

Womack has worked with many and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.

"I must have listened to 'Facts of Life' for months, what an influence, what a voice, so long Bobby!!" Rod Steward said in a statement to The Associated Press.

According to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website, Womack was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and sang gospel music at a young age, performing with his brothers in The Womack Brothers. Under the influence of gospel and R&B legend Sam Cooke, who signed the group to his personal label, Womack moved into secular music. In the early 1960s his group recorded "It's All Over Now," which was covered and by the Stones and became the band's first number-one hit.

His songs have been recorded by multiple artists, and he played as a session musician in Memphis in the 1960s.

"I don't think he ever really thought that he would do anything again," Albarn said of Womack in March. "Watching his rehabilitation and watching his ability to confront new material and new challenges was notjhing short of miraculous at the time, and he still today continues to battle his demons and his illness. But he's a beautiful person and when he opens his mouth and that voice comes out, it is something that is somehow touched by God."

"Ooh, na-na" - Looks what comes out July 1st. Trigga, the new album from Trey Songz!

Trey Songz was just in Chicago this past weekend performing at WGCI's Summer Jam along with R. Kelly & J. Cole.

The new album features hit single, "Na Na," and "Foreign (Remix)" featuring Justin Bieber. Can't wait til July 1st? You don't have too, because you can STREAM the entire album here.

It's no "Ordinary Day" for "A Thousand Miles" singer Vanessa Carlton, who recently announced that she and her husband John McCauley are expecting their first child on social media.

Due to the news, Carlton's new album, "Liberman," has been pushed back to the summer of 2015.

The singer/songwriter wrote an explanation for the delay on her Facebook page, stating: "No, those aren't a bunch of croissants. We're expecting a baby. It's healthy, and moving around like a champ."  The "A Thousand Miles" vocalist went on to say that she's "bummed to delay the album," but informed fans that when she puts the "record on it feels like medicine. I hope it does the same for you... in due time!."

Carlton has tweeted a picture of her and her big belly and stating when the new album will be released on Twitter.

Last Friday, JLo came to New York's Central Park to conquer 'First Love,' in promotion of her new album, A.K.A. which hit stores that Tuesday and as apart of Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series.

Lopez performed two songs from her new album, 'Booty' featuring Pitbull and 'First Love,' 'On The Floor,' and she closed with 'Let's Get Loud.'

Today, the "Ain't It Fun" group, Paramore rock the rainy stage as apart of Good Morning America's Concert Series in Central Park. The band set included their hits "Ain't It Fun," "Misery," and "Still Into You." 

The band is planed for an 36 date tour entitled Monunmentour with Fall Out Boy this summer kicking off on June 19th in Hartford, Connecticut.
